Barcode Scanners & iPads / Time & Attendance

Barcode Scanners will be available at certain stations to sign in and sign out of activities.  

Students will have the option to choose to use the barcode that is printed on their daily passport, the barcode or user code on the student ID card (when issued), or by manually inputting their Student ID code (three letters and three numbers) that is issued upon entry into our program. 

Steps (see images below)

1. Have the Passport or Student ID in hand and ready

2. Squeeze Barcode Scanner to Wake it Up

3. Make Sure iPad / Tablet is on the right screen

4. Scan Barcode on the Passport or ID, or enter the student code in the box with the blinking cursor

5. Confirm that your name was recorded at the proper location and the time.

The barcode scanners are "always on" but can be sleeping.  Generally, the light on top is "off" when the barcode scanner is asleep.  We suggest you squeeze the barcode scanner trigger once, the scanner will beep loudly and vibrate twice, and display a "green" light on top.  This means it is waking up and connecting.  Once it displays a "blue" colored light on top, the barcode scanner is ready to go.

Once you are done with an activity, you can scan into the next location and it will log you off the first one and log in on the second one.
