Who is Chris Hanson?  What is cbHansonCMV?

Chris was born in rural southern Minnesota and has spent the better part of his life driving big trucks and equipment.  He grew up in a rural area and assisted on his family and extended family's farms.  He learned how to drive at a young age, first it was lawnmowers, go karts and dirt bikes, but eventually he got to drive the big rigs for farming and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

He spent several years training vehicle equipment operators in snowplowing theory and methods and was a trainer in residence at the MNDOT snowplowing academy held each year at Camp Ripley in Northern Minnesota.  He left MNDOT to go and work the business side with AFSCME and eventually discovered office work wasn't really for him.  He missed being in the big trucks.

Chris has 4 children and farms in the rural Mankato area on a generational family farm.  He and his girlfriend Michelle (another transportation nut from the airline industry) along with each of their kids has embarked on an adventure to rehab a home and property that has been neglected for the last several dozen years in hopes of making a new home that will be good for years into the future.  Chris has natural and adopted children ranging in age from 3 years old up to 21 years old.  So that home better be pretty great by the time the final child graduates from high school and moves out!

Chris started cbHansonCMV in 2021 with the intent of offering just some basic behind the wheel training after he worked for MNDOT and the MN DMV as a side gig, but soon learned that the ELDT program had a significant potential to morph into a long term training program.

Aside from driving big trucks and spending time with his family, Chris enjoys fishing, motorcycling and visiting unique places across America.  He can be reached by email at chris@tdtsafetytraining.com.
