TDT Safety Training has multiple contractual obligations related to local, state, and federal governmental and non-governmental oversight. One of these obligations is accurate timekeeping of student attendance down to the minute in a defined manner.
Effective October 1, 2023, we will require all students to sign in and sign out using our online student attendance system during any activity that is not done inside the TDT Online Academy.
Times that students will be responsible to sign in / sign out include the following:
- Behind the Wheel - Pre-Trip Inspection
- Behind the Wheel - Road Practice
- Behind the Wheel - Range Practice
- Behind the Wheel - Road Test by State or Other Examiner(s)
- Classroom - In Person Real Time Classes (those with a live TDT instructor)
Students will be responsible for maintaining their attendance for all of these periods. Students who fail to sign in or sign out will not receive credit for the time they spent doing the activity. Instead, Students will be marked "absent, no-show" and will have the time deducted from their total balance of available hours.
Students are issued a three-letter and three-number student ID/student username/student code that allows them access to all of our online systems. This username/student ID will be used to log in to the student attendance system. You will be responsible for remembering this code.
Students can also choose to use the daily printed "Passport" and the barcode and barcode scanner to log in on certain devices.
This sign-in / sign-out system will be set up in a similar fashion to Electronic Logs for Drivers (ELDs) using various tablets, computers, and other cellular devices.
A student's attendance log will be available to all students inside the TDT Student Center. This is a feature that is being updated continuously and may not show initially inside your "My Account" under appointments, but once you have a few scans the system will start to populate that data.
